I live and breathe design. Here are a few ideas that make my imagination twirl and spin: http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/users/pamprentice2020
An artist can use different-colored cloth, yarns and fibers almost as flexible as a painter uses pigment on canvas. This is shown at the many open studios in northern California. The artists bring awareness of creative works in which layers of fabric are sewn together. This can be a non-traditional form which often features bold designs and colors.
The displays show fiber art in a wide variety of media and techniques to create functional and decorative artworks. They inspire an appreciation and awareness of works of contemporary fiber art to everyone.
I frequently visit the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles:
Fabulous fiber art techniques such as quilting, knitting, felting, macrame and lace making are often on exhibit.
Many amazing artists with Lacey Bryant, Michael Foley and Donny Foley at First Fridays art walk.
Meet Lacey and see her work exhibited at KALEID Gallery 88 South Fourth Street, downtown San Jose, California.
